Ulysses
"It is probably the best-known story in the world: the odyssey of the fearless Odysseus, King of Ithaca, and his return to his homeland to embrace his beloved wife Penelope again is a fairytale adventure that is still the subject of numerous adaptations today. This version is based on Homer's text and yet opens the door to a new interpretation. The authors mix mythological images with the science fiction décor of the 1960s: spaceships, robots and an Afri-Cola-drinking Zeus.
This adaptation originally appeared in various French and Italian magazines from 1968 to 1974. In this reinterpretation of the Homeric work, Jaques Lob preserves the epic nature of the original text, while Georges Pichard's drawings transpose the ancient art into the psychedelic era of the late 1960s.
A classic of world literature reissued in a pop art look as a German first publication after more than 50 years." (avant Verlag)
