Rami Taweel is a novelist, short story writer, translator, and screenwriter born in Syria in 1974. He has written various screenplays for television and film, including two series: “The Escape” and “The War of Money.” He has worked for the cultural page and cultural supplement of the Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar. He has published the novels “The Last Dance of the Shadow,” “Incomplete Lives,” and “Beethoven's Hat” with Dar Al-Saqi, as well as the short story collections “Before the Coffee Gets Cold,” “A Woman at the Window,” and in children's literature, “I Am Not Alone” (long list for the Sheikh Zayed Prize, children's literature category, 2023), “Adam's Wings,” and “The Kingdom of Music.” He has translated several Italian novels, the most notable of which are: “Family Dictionary,” “The Shape of Water,” “Love,” and “The Impossible.”
