Charitable status

Literatur.Review e.V. is recognised as a charitable association and pursues exclusively and directly charitable purposes within the meaning of Sections 51 et seq. of the German Fiscal Code (AO).

The association’s purposes are, in particular:

the promotion of education, public and vocational training, including student support in accordance with Section 52(2)(7) AO;
the promotion of an international outlook, tolerance in all areas of culture and the spirit of international understanding in accordance with Section 52(2)(13) of the AO.

Translations

Literatur.Review is a non-profit literary project run largely by volunteers. Our aim is to provide readers with free access, without paywalls, to literary and journalistic texts that would otherwise struggle to overcome language barriers.

Where translations have been carried out by translators, their names are credited. Other texts are partly pre-translated using AI and subsequently edited by our language editors in a comprehensive post-editing process. This regularly involves significant editorial intervention and, where necessary, the retranslation of individual passages or entire paragraphs.
