Al Joseph Lumen is a Filipino essayist who now resides in Germany. His writings have appeared in numerous anthologies, including the ANI series of the Cultural Center of the Philippines and Liwayway Magazine. He won 2nd place at the 2023 Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for his essay Ausländer: Mga Danas sa Alemanya and received Best Book Non-Fiction at the 2025 Migration Advocacy and Media Awards.
