Erica Joseph was born and raised in Haiti.  In Chile she obtained a Bachelor's degree in Public Relations and a Master's degree in International Studies. She is the author of the chronicle Necrologia de una comunidad haitiana en Chile ("Necrology of a Haitian Community in Chile"). With extensive experience in transnational migration and resettlement, her ups and downs as an Afro-Caribbean woman and migrant have led her to adopt the motto: "Home is not a place, but a feeling".
