Yousef Al-Mohaimeed

Biography

Novelist and storyteller from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He has published several novels and short story collections since the 1980s, and has worked in journalism for several years. 
Most of his works have been translated into different languages, including English, French, Italian, Romanian, Turkish, and others, and have won several Arab and international awards, including the novel (Traps of Scent), the translation of which won The Italian Alziator Prize for World Literature 2011, and its English translation (Wolves of the Crescent Moon) published by Penguin was shortlisted for the Switzerland Jan Michaliski Prize for World Literature 2007. His novel (Where Pigeons Don’t Fly) won the Abu Al-Qasim Al-Shabi Prize for Arabic Fiction in Tunisia in 2011, and (Munira’s Bottle) was awarded Pushcart Prize, United States, and the novel (The Journey of the Najdi Boy) won Riyadh International Book Fair Award in 2013. His last novel (A Man Pursued by Crows) was published in 2023. 
He also participated in several Arab and international festivals and forums on the novel and short story in many countries of the world, and his fictional works were the subject of a number of research theses and academic studies.
