The hope of happiness is always there

Axel Timo Purr talks to doctor and author Angeli E. Dumatol about the connection between medicine and literature, about competition and affection in hospitals and about the power of the Young Adult Romance genre. In her stories, female doctors, students, pupils and other young people come together - between work, love and the question of freedom and responsibility. Dumatol writes in English and is part of the #RomanceClass community, which is dedicated to "Happily Ever After" literature. For her, the heart of the genre is hope - that quiet, unwavering conviction that happiness is always possible when family, care and self-determination are in balance.
